There are many pearls that can be extracted from the SMART program. I am trained in conventional medicine and have not given much consideration for mind-body medicine until now. Kristin does an excellent job at explaining the science of stress and the role that mind body medicine plays to mitigate. I have personally implemented many of the tools from the program and my days definitely feel more balanced. There is a reason that the program is 8 weeks, because it takes time to create change within our body. As an anesthesiologist breathing is definitely one of the most important things in my work (but that’s other people’s breathing not my own).\u00a0 I was so impressed after the first few sessions that the breath work we were doing could bring on such a sense of calm after a few minutes. I feel calmer and less stressed than I did compared to at the beginning of the program (which was shortly after I had returned to work from maternity leave).
